Modernized Beauty and the Beast As far as romance novels go this one is nice because of the influence of the well known fairytale. The down side is the editing. Typos and repetition of sentences or phrases becomes tiresome just because there are so many of them. Giveaway win.

2018 was the year I decided to branch out of my normal thriller or horror reads. It isn't that I don't love them, but sometimes you need a change, to stop one book from blending into another. So I thought why not give romance a try, but I didn't want the standard, soppy, over-the-top, style of love story, I wanted something a little bit more up-to-date. This led me to Liz Cowan and her book The Beast Within. It seems fate has destined a couple to meet, but barriers come up thick and fast,

The Beast Within by Liz Cowan is a contemporary re-telling of the classic story Beauty and the Beast. With the modern touches, this story is transformed from an overly saccharine love story into one that is both realistic and touching. Crystal Belle St. James is the lead character with a simply overwhelming life. With a business to run, and familial obligations, she has little time for anything else, especially love or romance. However, things take a dramatic turn, and she meets Daniel. Daniel

The Disney treatment of fairy tales has become increasingly popular in the last few years, thanks to live action remakes of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and, of course Beauty and the Beast. They have received huge commercial success, but I do find them a little old fashioned and naïve. I've grow out of the sugary sweetness of the Disney versions, but I do still enjoy the basis plot of these stories that go back hundreds of years. So I was delighted to find a modern treatment of Beauty and the

This was a sweet story with just enough heat & conflict to keep you interested and engaged. The characters & world are wonderfully crafted and vivid. I enjoyed this book.I have to say that I loved this book as I was reading through it because it was sooo smooth and sensual, romantic and blissful so yeah. It made me smile to myself as I visualized its two very much in love main characters Daniel Di Domenico and Crystal Belle St. James go about their relationship that unfolded over the course of the story. It is a charming tale and I absolutely loved its slow but enchanting flow because the author Liz Cowans style of writing is steady and smooth it does not bore

A modern twist on the old tale, "The Beast Within" surprised me with its humor and blending of genres. Something in the story that particularly touched me was the description of a family dealing with Alzheimer's disease. Their heartache over the disease was so well written that it really connected me with those characters. For readers who don't like curse words, I would caution you that this book utilizes those.
