Too many "he was my core", "she was my core", to be followed by wishy-washiness. The h relentlessly pursues H, which is never a favorite trope of mine, and the H seems to respond well enough when h is in the room, but has no problem putting her out of mind when she is out of sight, moving on with his life (going to college, law school, dating, building his career) and there is zero evidence he is pining for her, aside from cheap words.
