Ilustration As Books The Queen of All that Dies (The Fallen World #1)

In the future, the world is at war.

For the last decade, King Lazuli of the Eastern Empire has systematically taken over the world. No one knows much about him other than a series of impossible facts: he cannot die, he has not aged since the conflict began, and he wants to rule the world.

All Serenity Freeman has known is bloodshed. War has taken away her mother, her home, her safety. As the future emissary of the Western United Nations, the last autonomous region of the globe, she is responsible for forging alliances where she can.

Surrender is on the horizon. The king can taste it; Serenity feels it deep within her bones. There is no other option. Now the two must come face to face. For Serenity, that means confronting the man who’s taken everything from her. For the king, it means meeting the one woman he can’t conquer. But when they meet, something happens. Cruelty finds redemption.

Only in war, everything comes with a price. Especially love.

This looked so promising until I read this review. Thank you so much for saving me the time amd effort. Rapey is not romance and I will never be ok

Hope you find a good alternative Lana :)

This is a real winner! I enjoyed so much The Vanishing girl, but I thought this was better. Review to come.

5 stars! Once upon a time we were innocent, and then we were not. In the future the world is at war and America is losing the fight against the king. Serenity has only known fighting and horror since she was a kid, and is among the soldiers in the WUN army. Her country is losing the war, and Serenity is sent with her father to make peace agreements with the king. From there it becomes clear she is meant to be an offering to the king, and he likes what he sees. What you choose to do with all

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Mixed Feelings*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱ Second re-read: **CONTAINS SOMEWHAT SPOILERS**I decided to re-read this book in order to finally get myself to finish this series. Yes, you read that right - I have yet to read the last book. So to make myself catch up with it again, re-reading it seemed like the right choice. The book centers around Serenity Freeman (19), who is the future emissary of the Western United Nations, the last autonomous region of the globe. Meaning she is responsible for forging

4.5 starsWhy did I take so long to read this?! Exceptional writing that pulls you in a world full of grey, nothing is black and white. And our heroine has a spine of steel trying to do what is best for her countrymen. Not what's right or wrong but what is best while navigating her own ambivalent emotions. Clever writing that delves within our heroines psyche but also humanizes the evil king that wants her. If you enjoy dystopian, you should definitely give it a try.

The war is over, and your enemy is now your husband...Goh BLIMEY!! Laura Thalassa really knows how to sock it to you. The Queen of All that Dies was fantastic. I think her writing is original but it affects me in a different way to other stories. I find myself a constant observer. When I read a lot of my other books, I place myself in the heroine's position. I am fighting, working, dancing and living as the heroine. I live and breathe their lives from the first page to the last. When I read a
